Colonial Beach Sprint (Colonial Beach, VA) – July 11


The Colonial Beach Triathlon Festival consist of 2 great events set in scenic Colonial Beach. While this race is relatively new to the VTS, 2015 will mark the 31st year for these races. The swim starts out with a 1 loop 750 meter swim in the Potomac river. This is then followed by a mostly flat 14 mile bike course through rural countryside. Upon your return to the beach athletes will embark on a scenic flat and fast out and back 5K course. Athletes will then be treated to a post race feast and can spend the day in Colonial Beach or the surrounding area.

Event Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the event in under 2.5 hours from the start of the final wave. Athletes must be done with the swim portion of the sprint within 40 minutes of the last wave starting. Those not making the swim cut off time will not be allowed to continue with the bike portion of the event. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 2.5 hours.
